The Digital Literacy Initiative (DLI) in Laos is being implemented by the Dariu Foundation in partnership with Plan International Switzerland and the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, with support from local partners. The aim is to prepare young people for the digital economy and to close the digital divide between town and countryside. Teachers in public schools are trained, and schools are supported in setting up Dariu Tech Clubs – spaces where young people develop their own projects in teams and build skills in problem-solving, teamwork, project management and leadership.

By 2029, we’re expanding to a nationwide network of 34 Dariu Tech Clubs, led by 500 master trainers who train more than 3,200 teachers in total, reaching some 110,000 students. Through the Tech Clubs, 1,800 young people will build at least 200 projects of their own.
