The Dariu Foundation - Girl looking up - Myanmar

In January 2026, The Dariu Foundation and the Fondation Zakoura signed a three-year partnership (2026–2028) for the use of artificial intelligence in education and training. The Fondation Zakoura is a Moroccan organisation based in Casablanca, recognised as a non-profit since 2001, which runs nationwide programmes such as the École de la 2ème Chance and Remédiation Scolaire.

The programme follows the same cascade model: each year, an AI specialist from The Dariu Foundation trains around 15 supervisors and project leads from Zakoura over three intensive days, supported by webinars every two months. They pass their knowledge on to teachers, facilitators and vocational instructors, who apply it directly in the classroom. By 2028, 45 trainers and 909 teaching and specialist staff are to be trained – reaching more than 44,000 pupils and young people across the country.

The first session, in April 2026, covered the fundamentals of AI, prompt engineering and responsible use in the school day. Two further cohorts follow through to 2028. Step by step, a Moroccan community of trainers is taking shape, carrying AI skills into the most remote programmes in the country.
